Singer Mary J. Blige performs her hit single "I Am" during the People's Choice Awards show.

Grammy-winning artist Mary J. Blige will perform at the opening-night show for the NBA All-Star Weekend.

On Feb. 11, Blige will sing after a stand-up performance by “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” star Mark Curry. Mario Lopez, host of entertainment magazine program "Extra," will emcee the evening with appearances by Dallas Mavericks players.

“The Mavs Foundation is extremely excited and grateful to be a part of NBA All-Star Opening Night,” said Terdema Ussery, president and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks. “The foundation supports programs and organizations that address the Dallas/Fort Worth areas’ most pressing needs involving youth, specifically education, good health and community service activity, and the proceeds from this event will allow us to continue these efforts. We would like to thank the NBA for providing us this opportunity to continue our goal of making a very positive and sustainable impact on North Texas.”

Tickets for the event at the Majestic Theatre will go on sale Thursday, with the proceeds benefiting the Mavs Foundation.
