10 Bands Not To Miss at SXSW

Dr. Dog - With a new album due out next month, expect to hear plenty of new material from Dr. Dog, the band made famous by lo-fi singles produced in a Philadelphia basement. With a mantle full of comparisons to '60s pop heavyweights like the Beatles and the Beach Boys, Dr. Dog's new album is more punk-influenced with electric guitars. So what you see at this year's SXSW may not be the same melodic rock that opened for the likes of Wilco and the Raconteurs in years past. Friday, 5:15 pm, Cedar St. Courtyard. - Lauren Zinn
