New Finalist for DeSoto ISD Top Job

DeSoto ISD board named David Harris the lone finalist for superintendent.

An assistant superintendent in Beaumont is the lone finalist for the top job at the DeSoto ISD in Dallas County.

The district confirmed to NBC 5 that David Harris is the lone contender. Last summer, the district bought out the contract of Kathy Augustine after only one day of work. The buyout cost DeSoto scandal8,000.  The district dismissed Augustine after the public learned of her involvement in a test-cheating scandal in Atlanta, Georgia.

The board may officially hire David Harris on March 26.
