Willie Daniels, 65, was shot and killed early Wednesday, witnesses say he was trying to break up a fight in the 800 block of Davis Street.
Fort Worth police say one man has died after a shooting on Davis Street.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identitified the victim as 65-year-old Willie Daniels.
Police say the shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Davis St. inside a two-story home that had two apartments inside. The shooting happened inside the downstairs apartment.
A police spokesperson said more information would be released later in the day.
Witnesses say there was an argument inside the apartment when it appeared the man tried to breakup the argument. That's when Daniels was shot, according to the witnesses.
Family members say Daniels was a kind. peaceful man.
"He didn't deserve to die," said Tony Terrayal, Daniels' brother-in-law. "For whatever reason they killed him, it was no reason at all. No one deserves to lose their life for nothing."
