North Texas has experienced five straight days of triple-digit heat, but a weak cold front brought that streak to an end.
Scattered showers and storms developed Wednesday morning along the Red River, with the heaviest rain from northern DFW Metro to the Red River. Avoid driving through flooded roadways.
Although widespread severe weather is not expected, a few storms could briefly be strong with locally heavy rainfall. Gusty winds in excess of 50 mph and cloud-to-ground lightning will be the main threats.
