Arlington police are looking for the man who robbed a Wal-Mart MoneyCenter at gunpoint last week.
Surveillance video shows the entire incident at the Wal-Mart in the 4800 block of South Cooper Street. He can be seen patiently waiting in line, even casually leaning against a counter, before confronting the cashier with a gun and demanding money.
"We saw the suspect in the video surveillance actually waiting for customers in line ahead of him to finish their transactions and for the store to clear out before he approached the clerk, so it's apparent he was looking for an opportunity where he wasn't in the store with a lot of people," police spokeswoman Tiara Ellis Richard said.
The man's mad dash out of the store was also caught on camera.
He appears to be a man in 30s or 40s who stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds, police said. He may have left the Wal-Mart in a silver, four-door passenger car.
"[We're] hoping that someone out there can recognize this guy, call police and help us catch us this guy," Ellis said.
While Wal-Mart Moneycenters handle financial transactions such as check-cashing, bill payments and money orders, the robbery is not a federal crime like a bank robbery.
