A DART passenger was fatally shot at the Pearl Street station early Wednesday morning following an argument on the platform.
According to DART, 20-year-old Dominique Wilson was involved in a verbal argument with three people while waiting for the northbound Blue Line.
When the train arrived, the three boarded the train. As Wilson approached the door, police said he was shot twice in the abdomen.
DART police immediately stopped the train from leaving the station and detained 20-year-old Joshua Mathis and his two friends.
Meanwhile, Wilson, who was in critical condition, was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas where he later died.
Officials with the Dallas Police Department said Wednesday afternoon that Mathis was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting and that the two people with him at the time have been released.
Investigators said Wilson didn't know the three men and that none of them had any prior convictions.

DART said there were approximately 20 other people on board at the time and that no one else on the train platform was injured in the shooting.
Initial reports from DART that the shooting took place as the victim exited the train were not accurate.
