Authorities say a man confessed to strangling his wife in their San Antonio-area apartment.
The Bexar County sheriff's office says 24-year-old Jonathan Geryk turned himself in to police on Wednesday morning in the Tuesday night death of 24-year-old Katrina Geryk.
The sheriff's office says that while being interrogated by investigators, Jonathan Geryk grabbed a deputy's gun from its holster with the intention of harming himself. Geryk was brought under control and the gun was recovered without being discharged.
Two deputies received minor injuries during the struggle.
Geryk was being held Thursday in Bexar County Jail as he awaits indictment on charges of murder and taking a weapon from an officer. Jail records did not list an attorney for him.
