Cowboys React to Death of Zimmer's Wife



    The wife of former Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer died Thursday.

    Vikki Zimmer died suddenly and unexpectedly according a news release by the Cincinnati Bengals. Zimmer currently serves as the Bengal's defensive coordinator.

    Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said, "We are heartbroken to hear of this loss, and our hearts go out to Mike, Adam, Corri and Marki," Jones said. "We remember Vikki for her vibrant love of life and her loving devotion to her family."
    Zimmer joined the Cowboys in 1994 as an assistant coach and stayed with the organization until he left to join the Atlanta Falcons football team in 2007.

    Mike and Vikki Zimmer were married for 27 years after meeting during Mike's coaching tenure at Weber State University. They have three children.
