Duke Johnson, the University of Miamiβs all-time leading rusher, believes heβd be a good fit with the Dallas Cowboys.
Obviously, the Cowboys are approaching next weekβs draft in need of a running back and the projected second round pick Johnson is a good one--ranked by NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock as the No. 4 running back in the draft at the moment--if not as highly touted as the Todd Gurleys and Melvin Gordons of the world.
Johnson named the Cowboys as the team that best fits his running style in an interview on NFL Networkβs βNFL AM,β on Monday.
βIn college, we ran the same outside zone scheme," Johnson said. βI can run it, basically, in my sleep.β
Of course, the Cowboys lost the NFLβs reigning rushing champion this offseason as DeMarco Murray went to the rival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency. Right now, the biggest name in the Dallas backfield is Darren McFadden, who was signed the day after Murray signed with Philly.
