Texas Drought Leaves Cautionary Warning

While the Texas drought monitor looks better than last year, the state is still experiencing extremely dry conditions.

The prolonged drought dates back to 2010. Currently, 90 percent of the state is said to be abnormally dry with over 40 percent in severe drought.

Even with recent rains, state grounds thirst for more water. While some regions received decent showers in the past two months, most parts received critically low levels of water.

As the summer temperatures increase so will evaporation, leaving water levels even lower.

Citizens are advised to limit water use to avoid further water shortages.
