San Antonio Zoo Welcomes Two Warthogs Born June 14

The San Antonio Zoo has two new baby warthogs.

Zoo officials on Thursday announced the birth of the male and female piglets.

The as-yet unnamed animals were born June 14 to a mother called Sekini.

A zoo statement says the newborns are being kept away from their father, named Nikki, to prevent disruption in the hog habitat.

Warthogs are wild members of the pig family and are found in grassland, savanna and woodland areas in sub-Saharan Africa. Adults can weigh up to 300 pounds.
