Mavs Fans Find it Impossible to Root for Spurs or Thunder

Okay, as a Mavs Fan For Life I’m torn about this Thunder-Spurs series.

As in, I desperately want both of them to lose.

After watching Oklahoma City perform cutesy pre-game Glee dance routines and then deliver cheap shots in the five-game win over Dallas, I couldn’t wait for the veteran Spurs to send them packing. And, I’ll admit, Game 1’s 32-point route was most delicious.

But now, as the series heads north for Thursday’s Game 6, I’m back to also being nauseated by the Mavs’ life-long nemesis, the Spurs.

Tim Duncan’s whining. Manu Ginobli’s flopping. Gregg Popovich’s bit of disrespecting TV interviewers. It’s all too familiar. And too sickening.

At this point it’s pick your poison. You prefer Kevin Durant’s recent elbows against the Mavs? Or you root for Popovich’s smug, one-word answers because he’s just too royal to be bothered by what us peasants would like to hear?

I know. Vomit.

I guess I just want it to be over so the survivor can get dusted by the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.
