Local Communities Host National Night Out Events

The first Tuesday of October means it's time to kick off National Night Out in Texas.

Texas cities host neighborhood events with their local police departments in order to increase community members' involvement with crime prevention.

This year's events include:

6-8 p.m. Oct. 7
University of Texas at Arlington Center Mall and neighborhood block parties

Briarwood neighborhood

6-8 p.m. Oct. 7

Dallas - Kiest Park
5-9 p.m. Oct. 7
Kiest Park
3080 S. Hampton Road (stone pavilion southwest of the softball complex)

Dallas - Meadow Stone Park
5:30-9 p.m. Oct. 7
