Starting Friday, Fort Worth will be charging more for water.
The average Fort Worth household can expect to spend about $1 more per month for water usage.
The Fort Worth City Counci also approved a 5 percent late fee for payments made more than three days past the due date.
City officials said the higher prices will cover their own rising costs of doing business.
