A Dallas police officer's vehicle was rear-ended on Interstate 35E Friday morning, according to authorities. [[428820803,C]]
Officials said Dallas Fire-Rescue and police responded to a call about the crash on southbound I-35E just past Continental Avenue at about 3:15 a.m.
Police said the silver sedan that crashed into the patrol car sustained heavy front end damage. The squad car was also heavily damaged on the rear.
As of 4 a.m., only the left lane of southbound I-35E was open.
No further details have been released.
