No explosives were found at a Wise County gas plant after a bomb threat was made Tuesday morning.
The Wise County Sheriff's Office searched Devon Energy's plant in Bridgeport on U.S. Route 380 for six hours.
"Right now, we have not found anything suspicious," Capt. Kevin Benton said. "The investigation will continue because even the fact that the threat was made is an offense."
The latest news from around North Texas.
The Denton Fire Department bomb squad, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the FBI and the Bridgeport police and fire departments also participated in the search.
Benton said investigators will continue to interview people and look at surveillance video.
"There are cameras throughout the facility, and we have technicians who are reviewing that data right now," he said.
The plant's security team called the sheriff's office for assistance at about 8:40 a.m. Phil Ryan, the head of security, was already in the process of evacuating the facility's 470-plus employees.
U.S. 380, which was closed to traffic near the site, along with Farm-to-Market Road 1658 and County Road 3504 where they intersect 380, was later reopened.
Officials said there was no immediate threat to the public. No injuries were reported.
