At about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, a woman called 911 to report someone had broken into her house and was still inside in the 5700 block of Longhorn Lane. The woman hid in another room in the back of the home while she was on the phone with dispatchers, police say.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspect pulled out of the driveway in a vehicle, almost running over officers. At least one officer fired shots, striking the suspect.

Later in the afternoon, Fort Worth police received a call from someone who said a man with a gunshot wound was located in the 5000 block of Slimridge Road. Officers determined it was the same individual that was a suspect in the Arlington home burglary.

The man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said he will be transported to Arlington City Jail after he's released from the hospital.

His identity has not been revealed at this time.

No one else was injured.
