NBC5 Forecast: Showers & Storms Early

Solid areas of showers and storms will push int through the morning with pockets of heavy rain. Rain chances go away for most this afternoon, with a few pop up showers possible near the Red River, but the humidity will stick around. The biggest issue this week will be the dangerous combination of heat and humidity. After today, the general trend is for drier and hotter weather to quickly return to the area. Highs will be in the middle to upper 90s the rest of the week ahead and into next weekend. Heat index values will be in the 105-108° range. If you're going to be outside for any length of time this week, make sure you're taking breaks often and keep lots of water close by. Right now, viewing conditions for the solar eclipse next Monday look pretty good with a mostly sunny sky expected.See the full 10-Day Forecast below. *TODAY: *Partly cloudy with a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms early.
