Guy Mascolo, a co-founder of the international hair salon Toni & Guy, has suffered a fatal heart attack in Dallas.

Mascolo died at his home Wednesday. He was 65.

Mascolo founded the hairdressing company with his brother, Toni Mascolo, in South London in 1963 when both teens.

He was born Gaetano Mascolo in Southern Italy and moved with his family to the United Kingdom in the mid-1950s.

Toni Mascolo retains ownership of the company's global operations in Europe. But eight years ago, Guy and two younger brothers took ownership of Toni & Guy USA and TIGI, the haircare products division based in Carrollton, Texas.

Guy Mascolo was chairman of the U.S. company that has 56 salons and 11 cosmetology schools.

Mascolo's family said the funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
