Police Investigate Kidnapping in Plano

A man is in police custody after they say he kidnapped his former girlfriend Thursday morning in Plano.

At about 6 a.m., Plano police received a call from a frantic father who said his daughter, who is in her early 20s, was taken unwillingly from her ex-boyfriend.

The man said the ex-boyfriend then drove the woman away in her vehicle.

Her vehicle was recovered not far from where she was taken with no one inside, according to Plano Police Department Spokesman David Tilley.

The ex-boyfriend was spotted on Preston Road between Campbell Road and President George Bush Turnpike several hours later, Tilley said.

Officers found the man and woman inside a motel room at about 12:30 p.m. When police forced their way inside room, the man jumped out of a third story window, officers said.

The man was captured nearby a short time later. Officers took him into custody, but the man appeared to be injured from the fall. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance. His condition is unknown.

The woman is injured, but safe. The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.
