Man Arrested After Chase Across Dallas

Chase began in Oak Cliff, ended on I-30 over Lake Ray Hubbard

A man was arrested peacefully Wednesday morning after leading deputies on a chase across Dallas, police say.

The chase began at 2 a.m. as a traffic stop by a deputy with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, according to Sheriff's spokesman Raul Reyna.

The driver of a blue Ford Mustang was speeding when he was clocked by the deputy doing 92 mph in a 60 mph zone, Reyna said in a statement.

A chase then began eastbound on Interstate 30 near North Hampton Road in Oak Cliff. The chase ended about 30 miles away on eastbound I-30 over Lake Ray Hubbard, Reyna said.

The driver of the Mustang, identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Harris, was arrested with an active warrant for parole violation, Reyna said.

Harris will also be charged with evading arrest and detention with vehicle.
