Police said they were called to the Walgreen's on the 1400 block of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard at about 5 a.m. and found damage to the exterior wall.

After reviewing the surveillance video at the pharmacy, police said someone in a maroon pickup truck with gray primer coating drove up to the front end of the building and rammed it several times.

"A reinforced steel sliding door and fortified concrete posts prevented the suspect from gaining entry into the business. It is believed that the unknown suspect was attempting to gain entry, in an attempt to take the ATM that is located just inside the entrance," Dallas police said in a news release.

Unable to get inside, the driver then left the pharmacy.

While the investigation was underway, an "officer assist" call was received from the same location after the driver of a dark-colored SUV nearly hit a police car.

Dallas police said it is unknown at this time if there is any connection between the two incidents.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not yet released the surveillance video.
