Bold Robber Caught on Surveillance Video

Police consider the robber armed and dangerous

Fort Worth police hope crystal-clear surveillance video will help them catch a brazen armed robber.

The chilling video recorded inside Tang’s Pacific Bistro shows a man pointing a gun at customers during a robbery at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Business owners along the busy stretch of North Beach Street are stunned by the bold robber who doesn’t make any effort to disguise his face as he holds up the restaurant.

The video shows the man stroll in the front door to Tang’s just a half hour before closing Wednesday night.

The man wanders right behind the bar, toward an employee, and appears to pull a gun out of his pocket while two women are sitting at the bar.

He confronts the worker, then puts the gun right on the counter top.  He looks around and takes aim at one of the customers.  He demands the worker move faster to get the money out of the register.

“For real? Oh my gosh!” said neighboring business owner, Kevin Le, as he watches the video.

Le can’t believe how the bold unmasked man just casually stands in the lobby, patiently waiting for his payday.

The worker hands him the till and the man then hustles toward the door closest to him.  That door is locked, so he tries again.

The calm customer, who found herself staring down the barrel of the gun, gets up and tries to get any information she can that may help police catch him.

The clear video may be the best shot police have to catching the robber.

“It’s very clear, very clear.  You can recognize him, if you see the guy, definitely.  Very clear,” said Le.

Investigators consider the man armed and dangerous.  Fort Worth police ask anyone who recognizes the man to call 911 immediately.
