World Series Game 7 Has Postponed Your Favorite TV Shows

NBC will air reruns of "Blindspot," "Law &Order: SVU" and "Chicago PD"

You're going to have to wait an extra week for new episodes of some of your favorite shows because they've been bumped from the schedule thanks to Game 7 of the Chicago Cubs-Cleveland Indians World Series.

NBC announced today that it would air reruns in place of its Wednesday night lineup of "Blindspot," "Law &Order: SVU" and "Chicago PD," while CBS confirmed that it's pushing tonight's previously planned new episode of "Criminal Minds" to next week.

Instead of new episodes, NBC is airing two repeats of "Law &Order: SVU" (of Sept. 21's Terrorized and Sept. 28's Making a Rapist) and an encore of the Sept. 28 episode of "Chicago PD," Made a Wrong Turn.

Chicago PD star Sophia Bush tweeted the news to fans, saying, "Good news, Chicago!! We all want to focus on the @cubs bringing home a win, so we'll hold the show tonight! Go Cubs!! #FlyTheW"

Meanwhile, CBS will still air new episodes of "Survivor" at 8 p.m. and "Code Black" at 10 p.m., but will repeat the "Criminal Minds" season 11 episode "Target Rich" at 9 p.m. in place of the newest episode, which was to be the first episode since star Thomas Gibson's departure.

The newest episode of "Empire" will have to wait until next week (as Fox is airing the World Series), but ABC has a live event of its own that will go on as planned: the 50th Annual CMA Awards.

The CW is also scheduled to run new episodes of "Arrow" and "Frequency" as previously planned.
