Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware was limited throughout the loss to the Chargers on Sunday after suffering what Jason Garrett described as “a little bit of a back strain” in the second quarter. Ware was forced from the game briefly, but returned shortly thereafter and dismissed the injury when talking to the media afterward.
Ware also added that the stinger issue that was bothering him all last week didn’t bother him in the Chargers game.
“I didn’t have any neck problems,” Ware said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I just didn’t play the game I needed to play.”
Playing through injuries is nothing new for Ware. Last season, he dealt with a torn rotator cuff and a dislocated elbow, and had to undergo surgery to repair the shoulder in the offseason.
