Why the First 90° Degree Day Doesn't Determine How Hot the Summer Will Be

When we first get to 90° in the year doesn’t tell us how hot the summer will be.

Monday will likely be the first day DFW Airport gets to 90° in 2018.

It's a little later than we normally reach the big 9-0 (at least looking at the average date from the last 30 years), but that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to have a cooler summer.

In fact, there's no real good correlation between when we have our first 90° day of the year and how hot the summer will be.
