EASTERN REELS: One Southwest premiere on the 8th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas sched is ideal for the easily distracted moviegoer. "Animation: The Illusion of Life" is a collection of 20 animated shorts, mostly under 5 minutes long. There's a parable about sacrificing honor to grow larger tomatoes, a micro-series of experimental animation based on piano music and a romantic comedy set on the Golden Gate Bridge. DUST AND GLITTER: Jessica Lea Mayfield is the best news for the blues-folk tradition since fellow Ohioan Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys set out on his solo endeavor.
