The city of Denton has developed a smartphone application that will remind residents when to take out their trash, recycling and yard trimmings.
The "My Waste" app also sends out alerts during the holidays when the garbage pickup schedule may change.
The app also serves as a clearing house for information on the city's recycling procedures, drop-off locations and landfill hours.
The iPhone version is available now in the iTunes App Store. An Android version is expected to be available later this month.
