Romo Confident Cowboys Can Win in His Absence

Tony Romo will likely miss two months after suffering a broken clavicle on Sunday

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is confident the team can win in his absence as he recovers from a broken clavicle, suffered in the third quarter of Sunday’s 20-10 victory over the Eagles in Philadelphia.

The NFL really is about adversity in general,” Romo said after the win, per ESPN Dallas. “It’s how you handle it, how you approach it on a day-to-day basis, individually and collectively as a team. The goal for our football team is to just find ways to win. I think we have guys in that room who can do that.”

No one knows more than Jason Witten how much Romo means to the team, but he also believes moving forward in these situations actually happens to be a strong suit of this Jason Garrett-led Cowboys team.

“The best thing this team has done under coach [Jason] Garrett is just kind of move on,” Witten said, “as tough as those blows are with Dez and, of course, Tony. You don’t replace a guy like Tony with the way he’s playing now and what he does for our football team.”

Before going down Sunday, Romo had thrown for 551 yards, three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions on 2015, while completing 75 percent of his passes.
