Just a couple days after Jason Garrett declared that Dez Bryant would not be ruled out for Sunday’s season finale against the Redskins, well, he’s been ruled out. Garrett announced Wednesday that Bryant would be placed on injured reserve this week, per the Dallas Morning News, bringing a highly disappointing 2015 campaign to an end.
It’s been a tough one for Bryant. He sat out all offseason due to a contract dispute, then suffered a hamstring injury early in training camp which kept him out of the preseason.
In the regular season opener, Bryant suffered a fractured foot, which kept him out for over a month and a half. He returned on November 1, but never really looked like himself after that.

He didn’t make the trip to Buffalo in Week 16, which left us to assume he probably wouldn’t play in Week 17, and which made Garrett’s declaration on Monday pretty strange.
Garrett added that Bryant will undergo another surgical procedure on his right foot as well as one on his ankle, but that the team doesn’t believe Bryant was rushed back from the initial foot injury.
Bryant finishes 2015 with 31 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns.
