Rangers' Greenberg Changes Law Firms

Famed sports attorney Chuck Greenberg not only has a new title as managing partner and chief executive officer of baseball's Texas Rangers, he's got a new working address, too.

Greenberg has joined the Pittsburgh-based law firm of Reed Smith LLP. He was previously a partner in the Pittsburgh office of Pepper Hamilton, where he headed that firm's sports practice.

Greenberg will be joined at Reed Smith by Kristin Wells, another former Pepper Hamilton partner, who counsels the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins and other sports franchises.

Greenberg founded Greenberg Sports Group and led investors including Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan in purchasing the Rangers out of bankruptcy.

Major League Baseball approved the sale Aug. 12.
