Cowboys Start Slow But Lead 10-6 At The Half

Offense is sloppy, defense carrying Cowboys early

If you were looking for offense, Texas Stadium is the wrong place to search. It was all defense in the first half with the Cowboys leading the Buccaneers tied at 10-6

The offense once again behind Brad Johnson was sloppy although they managed two drives behind Marion Barber's hard running and a couple of Tampa Bay penalties. Johnson hit Roy Williams on a fade rout just before the half to give them the lead. The Cowboys were once again hit with an injury. Jason Witten left the game with a rib injury, his status is uncertain.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Cowboys seemed to play inspired. Much was made of Wade Phillips taking over for Brian Stewart, maybe it's working. The Bucs put together a couple of drives, but only managed two Matt Bryant field goals.
