Turnout for early voting across North Texas will set records, election administrators predicted Tuesday.
"I think it will be in numbers more than we've ever seen," said Dallas County elections administrator Bruce Sherbet.
In Dallas County, more than 300,000 people had voted by Tuesday afternoon, a 50 percent increase over the same time four years ago.
In Tarrant County, 270,000 voters had cast their ballots, a similar jump.
Election officials are encouraging people to vote early.
"It's pretty busy," said Tarrant County elections administrator Steve Raborn. "We're a little concerned about Friday," the last day of early voting.
"We're maxed out on our capacity," Raborn said. "If our projections come true, we could see 60,000 people voting on Friday."

He fears that could mean delays of two hours or more.
Voters are attracted to the polls not so much by local issues as by the presidential race and the economic crisis, analysts said.
"That has to be the No. 1 issue -- the economy, people losing their jobs, their homes," said a woman waiting in a long line outside a North Fort Worth polling location.
