It was not an easy trail, but Julie Bresset of France won the mountain bike gold medal in her first Olympics Saturday morning. The women's cross country mountain was a tough one as competitors hit piles of rocks, crashed on descents, and even one biker had to walk her bike up a hill. But Bresset dominated the picturesque course at Hadleigh Farm, as Germany's Sabine Spitz wound up with the silver medal, and Georgia Gould of the United States claimed bronze.
