Jackson State Looking for New Athletic Director

Jackson State athletic director Vivian Fuller has been reassigned to associate vice provost for student affairs, a move the university describes in a news release as a "strategic redeployment of talent."

JSU president Carolyn Meyers says the school said it is conducting a national search for Fuller's replacement.

Fuller's reassignment comes seven months after she received a contract extension as athletic director. Her new deal was set to run up to July 2017 and paid $210,000 annually.

The school says Robert Walker will serve as interim athletic director effective March 1.

Walker previously served as interim until Fuller was hired and then moved to director of community relations in 2011. Nedra Brown will assume day-to-day duties of the athletic department until Walker begins.
