Police have increased patrols in a Haltom City neighborhood after a man broke into a house and assaulted a sleeping woman.
The 31 year-old woman said she woke up early Monday morning when she felt a stranger groping her under her pajamas. The woman yelled for help, scaring the man away.
Haltom City Police say the man forced open a locked window and crawled inside.
"The lock on the window was substandard and allowed entry into the residence with little to no force," said Haltom City Police Corporal Cody Phillips.
Haltom City Police said the man was also seen a few hours earlier, peeking through the window of a different home.
Even with an increased police presence in the area, residents said they are looking over their shoulder.
"I'll just keep a closer eye on what's going on around here, for sure," said James Walls, who checks in on his mother in the neighborhood.
