β€˜Texas Music Takeover' Highlights Local Musicians

More than a dozen Texas country music singers are getting ready to take their shows overseas in hopes of drumming up some big business with potential visitors.

The "Texas Music Takeover" is about promoting Fort Worth and Texas music to country music lovers around the world.

For the second year in a row, The Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the Texas Music Takeover in London.

This year, the 6-day concert series spotlights 13 Texas musicians, including include Wade Bowen, Ryan McBride and Pat Green.

Seven of the 13 are from Fort Worth.

We talked to former voice contestant, and Dublin, Texas native, Luke Wade about this years Texas music takeover overseas. This is going to be his third year representing and promoting Texas country music in the UK and Ireland.

"I think that Texas and Fort Worth in general has a lot more talent and a lot more music than people across the world realize. So being able to go over there and show people what Texas cultivates means a lot to me, because I think that people need to know about it," said Wade.

Wednesday night, you'll have a chance to meet Luke and all the Fort Worth musicians before they head across the pond.

Fort Worth musicians: Luke Wade, Casey Donahew, Abraham Alexander, Grady Spencer, Austin Allsup and Joey  Green will be at McDavid Studio on East 5th St. The meet and greet starts at 4 p.m.

Rival Entertainment's Texas Music Takeover, in London, kicks off Oct. 10 and goes through the 16th at some of the best live music venues around London.

Here's an interesting fact: The U.K. is the number one overseas source of visitors to Fort Worth.
