Texas Gets More Than $61M for Health Centers

Dallas locations to receive $5.5 million in grants

Texas has been awarded more than $61 million in federal grants to support community health centers.

The funding was announced Tuesday by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

The Texas share is part of $728 million provided nationwide.

The list includes a $5 million grant for building capacity improvements for the Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic in Dallas and a number of other Texas medical centers.  See the list here for building capacity grants. 

Also in Dallas, Martin Luther King, Jr., Family Clinic, Inc., will receive a $500,000 grant for facility improvements.  See the full list of facility improvement grants here.
