Students to Memorialize Football Player Who Died After Collapsing at Practice

Almost a month since 13-year-old Kyrell McBride-Johnson died after collapsing at football practice at Summer Creek Middle School his teammates are plan to honor his memory.

At Tuesday night's game, players, coaches and students plan to take a moment to memorialize the teenager.

After a moment of silence, his mother will be presented with a framed jersey, football and American flag. Students in the audience will also wear shirts meant to honor McBride-Johnson.

The team will play Mansfield ISD’s Howard Middle School at North Crowley High School.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has not released a cause of death.
