Richardson Chief of Police Larry Zacharias will retire December 31. Chief Zacharias served as chief since 2002.
Zacharias started with the Richardson Police Department in 1977 as a Patrol Officer.
He was promoted through the ranks and has worked in and supervised almost every division and section of the department, including Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations Division, Narcotics Division, Administrative Services Division and Internal Affairs. He also served as the department's SWAT commander.
Zacharias is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and the F.B.I. National Academy.
