Prosper Police: 3 people injured during ‘road rage altercation' at RaceTrac gas station

A spokesperson for the Town of Prosper said three people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening Sunday night.

Prosper Police say a 'disturbance' at a RaceTrac gas station Sunday night that hospitalized three people was the result of a "road rage altercation between two drivers."

A spokesperson for the Town of Prosper said just after 7 p.m., Prosper Police received a call reporting a disturbance at the RaceTrac service station on U.S. Hwy 380 and Gee Road.

They said Prosper Police, Prosper Fire, and EMS arrived at the scene. They also treated and transferred three people to area hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

On Monday, police said based on their investigation thus far that both drivers stopped at the gas station and the altercation began and that by the time police arrived three of them had lacerations and other knife wounds.

"The investigators determined two of the subjects were the aggressors and were arrested and booked into the Denton County jail following their release from the hospital," police said.

The two who were arrested are expected to be charged with assault causing bodily injury.

The names of those involved have not yet been released, police said, due to the ongoing investigation.
