Houston police are investigating the death of a woman who was struck and killed by a stray bullet at a 15-year-old's birthday party.
A police spokesman said 24-year-old Dixie Mendez was pronounced dead at a friend's home around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Witnesses said there were about 50 people at the party when someone outside started shooting. They said Mendez was asleep in a back room when she was killed.
Investigators said people were arguing outside the house before the shooting started.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
