North Texas Western Wear Store Outfits Garth Brooks

The night before Garth Brooks kicked off seven shows in five nights, he took over Cavenders Boot City in Plano.

Julie Hamlin was among the first employees to greet the country superstar.

"The very first person to walk in was Garth," said Hamlin. "It was kind of funny because he was like, 'Hey y'all, I'm Garth.' Inside we were like, we know who you are!"

For more than an hour, employee John Shrum helped Brooks and his crew.

"Garth and I talked quite a bit," said Shrum. "He looked good, he looked really good."

Hamlin took care of Trisha Yearwood.

"He said get to shopping because we're buying for the whole tour," said Hamlin.

More than a dozen members of Brooks' team bought jeans, shirts, boots and hats.

"They were comparing stuff and they were like, 'Oh, this would look good on stage, and this could be comfortable,'" said Hamlin.

On Thursday night, Brooks wore a shirt Shrum picked out.

"Last night I was on Instagram going through his hashtag and I saw he was wearing one of our shirts," said Elizabeth Escamilia.

Several employees stayed late on Wednesday night to help Brooks and his team. In return, Brooks offered them a suite for Saturday night's concert at the American Airlines Center.
