With Tyson Chandler at home with a bad back and Monta Ellis sprawled on the floor in pain late Sunday night, things looked briefly bleak for the Mavericks against the Thunder. Another home loss to a lesser foe. More injuries to an already disjointed lineup. And …
Whew. A Happy New Year is possible after all.
This morning comes word that Ellis (sprained ankle) and Chandler (back) will be in uniform tonight in American Airlines Center against the Wizards who, by the way, will be playing the second night of a back-to-back off Monday’s pulsating one-point win in Houston. In other words, tonight is set up for a Mavs’ victory and a 23-10 record headed in to 2015.
Ellis, by the way, has played in 196 consecutive games. It would be scary to think where the Mavs would be this season without him.
