Driver Sleeping at Traffic Light Found with 2 Pounds of Pot, Stolen Gun

Man faces charges of possession, unlawfully carrying a firearm

Arlington police recovered two pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash and a stolen gun from a man's car after they found him sleeping at a red light. 

An officer approached Kelvin Wright in the 100 block of East Sublett Road on Sunday night when he noticed that Wright's car hadn't moved through the intersection for several traffic signal cycles, according to Steven Bartolotta, an Arlington police spokesman. 

Wright initially tried to flee after the officer woke up him up, but he quickly stopped, Bartolotta said. 

Wright faces possible charges of marijuana possession and unlawfully carrying a firearm, according to Arlington police records.
