A Central Texas police officer will not face charges over an off-duty incident at a school in which he restrained a 9-year-old boy that later appeared to have minor injuries.
Killeen police said the officer, who was put on administrative leave after the May 20 incident, will resume his duties Thursday.
Prosecutors found insufficient evidence on injury to a child allegations. An internal investigation found no violation of city or police policies.
The officer, whose name wasn't released, was at Bellaire Elementary School on personal business when he heard a disturbance in a classroom. Authorities say the officer responded, he and a staffer escorted the child from class, the boy resisted and the officer restrained him while headed to the principal's office.
