Fort Worth police say a 15-year-old boy is accused of pulling a hammer from his pants during class and striking another boy in the head several times.
The suspect was arrested at his home after yesterday's attack at North Side High School.
The injured youth was taken to a nearby hospital.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the alleged assailant was turned over to juvenile authorities and faces a charge of delinquent conduct/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police are trying to determine what prompted the attack.
