Fire Closes Webb Middle School in Garland

More than 1,000 students had an unplanned day off after fire damaged their Dallas-area school.

Classes were canceled Tuesday at Webb Middle School in Garland.

Investigators say a custodian around 10 p.m. Monday reported fire in an unoccupied classroom of the school, which has about 1,300 students.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze, which left several classrooms damaged due to fire or water, is sought. A damage estimate is being compiled.
