Final Four Fits Garland Business to a T

No basketball games Sunday out at AT&T stadium but there's plenty of buzz around it from University of Kentucky and University of Connecticut fans.

As thousands of those fans went wild celebrating their victories, dozens of folks in Garland went to work through the night. Pony Xpress Printing is looking to satisfy the thousands of college basketball fans who came to North Texas and whose teams are still alive. The company is having its own shining moment getting to produce team t-shirts

"Obviously in the screen printing business we enjoy orders like this and where there's big event in town you like to be a part of it," says Bruce Jolesch, President of Pony Xpress Printing.  His team produced UConn and Kentucky t-shirts until around 8 a.m.  Sunday and then got them out to the licensed retailers.

Hours later at J.E.B.'s Locker Room, which has seven tents set up near AT&T stadium, workers unpacked and sorted those newly printed t-shirts and folks had their wallets open. Mike Derosa's excited to have his new Huskies finals shirt but won't be wearing it to Monday's championship game.

"We actually have a flight in two hours," said Derosa.  "We're headed to Augusta for the Masters.  Had we known (Connecticut would advance) we'd have definitely been here (Monday night)."

We found some Kentucky fans who definitely aren't leaving town until Tuesday.

"I'm here to pick up some t-shirts for the game to wear and then wear when I get back and we get that number nine championship title," said Kentucky fan Jasmine Brooks.

The Garland printer is producing t-shirts just for that occasion for both teams but we won't know until late Monday night whether the Wildcats or Huskies will get to don the coveted "National Champions" decal.
